We started as an awareness project called “information security project” back in 2011, participated in “sharakah”; an information technology contest and exhibition at the American University of Sharjah, we were awarded 1st place back then, it was the 1st public awareness infosec project in Arabic. Since then, we launched many awareness campaigns in information Cybersecurity in the MENA region, spread awareness through both social and traditional media, forums too which were popular before social media, and some of them were with the cooperation of organizations and centers.The project supported many individuals with securing their data and restoring their hacked accounts too, and sometimes we helped blackmail cases.We worked with entities too, Public, Private and non-profit sectors, educating their employees, and providing continuous cybersecurity learning.In 2017, complying with a change, we switched our name to Cybearena, rebranded the project, launching the first cybersecurity online magazine in Arabic and Awareness media portal.
